Business Development & Transformation Manager
Our client is a global leader in the mobility and manufacturing sector, operating across multiple regions with a strong presence in Europe. The role is based in Frankfurt and focuses on driving transformation and growth in the B2C segment.
Purpose of the Position
This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking professional to lead transformation in a dynamic, global organization. The Business Development & Transformation Manager will be responsible for managing the transformation of the sales organization with a focus on increasing efficiency, digitalization/AI, and performance management.
Key priorities
Maximizing the effectiveness and impact of sales and marketing activities; Reviewing and re‑designing end‑to‑end processes; Establishing an internal & external network for benchmarking.
Candidate must be based in Frankfurt or willing to relocate. Remote work is not possible.
Main tasks
Transformation Roadmap
- Develop new and existing customer potentials that promote organizational objectives for maximum penetrations and profitability.
- Identify business opportunities based on knowledge of clients, markets, products and services.
- Lead new business opportunities by developing and analyzing business cases, market strategies, deal requirements, business potential, and financials.
- Support and drive the implementation of digitalisation and AI-based sales management.
- Use experts or actively generate knowledge of other industries to influence and drive the transformation.
- Act as change manager during the transformation phase within sales.
- Support the development of a new sales organization.
- Introduce new ways of future selling.
Sales Business Strategy
- Establish a long-term regional sales strategy aligned with the overall group objectives.
- Active involvement in the Go‑to‑market strategies with a time horizon of 1-5 years.
- Translate and adapt the strategy into operational plans including analysis, planning, implementation and control.
- Ensure consistency of business plan implementation across the sales functions and relevant interfaces.
- Measure progress of the activities vs. objectives.
- Assess the potential impact of wider environmental forces on the business strategy (culture, ethics, economics, politics, legal frameworks and sustainability).
- Review the channel strategy with other organizational stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage the effectiveness of channel performance and utilisation of channel resources.
- Assess the customer/consumer value proposition to identify and create new offers and solutions.
- Develop new and existing customer potentials that promote organisational objectives for maximum penetrations and profitability.
People Management
- Facilitate and coordinate different teams to ensure continuous alignment between organisational strategies and investments.
- Support the development of leadership skills in the sales organisation.
- Maintain close alignment with business partners and sales managers for the development of future competencies in sales.
Business Performance
- Establish key performance indicators and relevant metrics, monitor and analyse results to implement corrective measures when appropriate, to maximise performance and achieve revenue and operating income budget.
- Support business steering across all sales teams.
Experience and Professional Qualifications
Hard Skills
- Work experience in commercial roles, with a combination of Marketing and Sales/Business Development.
- Strong business acumen.
- Experience in E‑Commerce/Digitalisation.
- Leadership/People Management is a plus.
- Financial skills.
