Overview
As Excise Duty Specialist, you ensure compliance with European and national excise rules while advising on cross-border flows. You will be the go-to expert for excise topics across the Netherlands and Germany, blending daily operations with process improvements. You’ll help design working methods, controls, and documentation, and support audits and interactions with authorities. This role sits in an international compliance team and shapes how excise activities are organized and executed across markets.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Ensure compliance with European and local excise legislation
- Advise on excise aspects within international goods flows
- Improve processes and controls by identifying risks and developing procedures and master data checks
- Prepare for and support audits, inspections, and interactions with customs and tax authorities
- Help establish structure and ways of working for excise activities across logistics teams in NL and DE
- Oversee topics from broad perspective while validating details where accuracy matters
- Contribute to shaping processes and effective ways of working as the structure is developing
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Excise and customs expertise with demonstrable knowledge of excise duties
- Experience in excise duties, EMCS, energy products, mineral oils or lubricants (advantage)
- Regulatory and classification knowledge with ability to translate excise legislation
- Analytical and structured approach to complex regulations and process design
- Strong communication and stakeholder management across teams
- International mindset with English required; Dutch and/or German a plus
- Affinity with software solutions and cross-border excise transactions
- Broader customs and trade compliance experience with risk mitigation in excise
