Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager to join our team, drive operational excellence, and continuously optimize production costs. If you\’re a dynamic leader with a passion for process optimization and high performance, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will manage a team of currently 8 Operational Care Experts in the Sea Logistics department. You will be responsible for the development of Sea Logistics operations, enhancing operational capability, and delivering increased profitability, while managing the Operational Care Centre with a focus on cost-efficiency and high-quality processing. Responsibilities also include business development related to carrier procurement and management, unless already managed by trade management. Additionally, you will work on improving Kuehne+Nagel services and developing the national sea logistics business.

Your Responsibilities

1. Act as the Head of the Operational Care Centre, providing leadership and direction while delivering high-quality export/import/cross trade services.
2. Ensure operational excellence through efficient shipment management.
3. Develop pricing strategies and support RFQ preparation from a buying perspective.
4. Collaborate with Sea Logistics management and Customer Care teams to optimize customer experience.
5. Drive continuous process improvements and enhance productivity.
6. Support procurement and carrier relationship management.
7. Work closely with sales teams on strategic accounts and customer development.
8. Monitor and improve sea freight operational KPIs.

Your Skills and Experiences

1. Proven expertise in freight forwarding, operations, and import-export regulations.
2. Strong knowledge of market trends and carrier relationships.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
4. Leadership capabilities and project management experience.
5. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Freight Forwarding preferred.
6. Strong commercial acumen and a performance-driven mindset.
7. Adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
8. Excellent communication skills; proficiency in English and German is required.
9. Experience in People Management.
