Production Manager Protein Crops

We are seeking a Production Manager to establish and manage the production of protein crops for extraction purposes, supporting KWS food ingredients ambitions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the (contra-)seasonal production of protein crops, including planning, grower management, and logistics coordination.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements regarding quality, identity preservation, and phytosanitary status.
• Establish and coordinate logistics for seed/grain transfer to growers and processing partners.
• Provide agronomic advice and conduct crop status monitoring with contract growers.
• Maintain professional inventory management from seed to protein, ensuring transparency on seed/grain flow.
• Support the needs of KWS\‘ food industry partners and product development projects.
• Contribute to capacity and quantity planning for R&D/commercial usage.
• Collaborate with internal plant breeding and production teams to coordinate seed maintenance and propagation.
• Pursue cost efficiency and quality parameter improvements.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in agriculture or adjacent sciences.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in agricultural crop production, preferably with peas.
• Experience in organic production and/or protein crop processing is an advantage.
• A hands-on attitude with proactive problem-solving skills.
• Innovative thinking and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and proficiency in German and English.
• Valid driving license and high willingness to travel.
