Overview
As a Senior Staff Scientist in Flow Cytometry at Labcorp, you advance scientific initiatives within global Laboratory Operations. You will develop and validate complex cytometry assays and lead troubleshooting to translate assays into production. You’ll explore new strategies, techniques, and instrumentation to support Central Laboratory Services, collaborating across teams to drive scientific and operational excellence in drug development.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Develop and validate complex conventional and spectral cytometry assays
- Lead complex troubleshooting and drive initiatives to resolve assay or instrumentation challenges
- Apply advanced scientific principles to clinical studies and contribute to scientific leadership
- Provide technical consultation to scientific and operational staff
- Respond to unscheduled deadlines and client needs while managing other duties
- Monitor and evaluate clinical assays to ensure scientific performance
- Provide technical training to scientific and operational staff
- Counsel departments outside the lab on technical/scientific matters (e.g., Project Management)
- Contribute to long-term planning and technical policies of the department
- Manage scientific vendor relationships to troubleshoot issues and enhance capabilities
- Participate in client visits and promote CLS capabilities
- Stay current by reading relevant literature and presenting to clients and professional groups
- Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars to disseminate capabilities
- Support organizational culture of growth and learning within Labcorp
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Ph.D. in immunology and/or cancer biology (preferred)
- At least 10 years of experience in the scientific area
- Expert knowledge of spectral cytometry instrumentation (CYTEK Aurora preferred) with proven method development, validation and performance monitoring experience
- Experience collaborating with instrument manufacturers
- Experience with drug development/pharmaceutical collaborations mandatory
- Strong research, data interpretation, and report-writing skills
- Experience presenting scientifically and publishing work
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory automation, system software, and statistics
- Effective communication with technical staff, business teams, peers, and clients
- Attention to detail and strong data interpretation
- Problem prevention, detection and resolution skills
- Fluent in English; French a plus
- Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders
