Overview
As a Field Service Engineer, you will support Lam’s customers by ensuring operational excellence of complex semiconductor equipment on site. You’ll install, repair, and service systems, diagnose issues, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime. You’ll stay current with Lam products and capital equipment, mentor junior engineers, and build trust with customers through clear, actionable plans. This role offers hands-on impact across installations, modifications, and service delivery.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation/relocation start-up services for Lam’s electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites
- Perform diagnostics, analytical problem-solving, and component-level troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through training and certification
- Assist with complex field modifications and updates, keeping records to coordinate activities between Lam and the customer
- Serve as a Lam SME to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction
- Troubleshoot and develop customer action plans; discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to build trust
- Provide technical instruction and mentoring for junior engineers
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s with 3+ years; or equivalent experience
- Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals
- Able to work in a clean room and wear PPE
- Physical ability to perform field tasks (bending, lifting, standing, etc.) and to travel domestically and internationally
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including overtime and on-call as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
