Overview
In this Field Service Engineer role at Lam, you ensure operational excellence of complex semiconductor equipment through on-site repair, installation, and maintenance. You’ll work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver timely, high-quality service and solutions. You’ll troubleshoot at component level, perform field modifications, and mentor junior engineers to raise capability across the team. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation/start-up services for Lam’s complex systems at customer sites
- Diagnose issues, perform diagnostics, and isolate faults to minimize downtime and disruptions
- Stay current on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through training and certification
- Assist in complex field modifications and maintain records to coordinate activities between Lam and customers
- Serve as Lam’s subject matter expert to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction
- Develop customer response action plans and discuss opportunities and challenges to build trust
- Provide technical instruction and mentoring for junior engineers
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals
- Ability to work in a clean room and wear appropriate PPE
- Physical ability to perform tasks (bending, kneeling, climbing, etc.) for extended periods
- Frequent travel domestically and internationally; flexible to varying shifts, overtime, and on-call as needed
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset

- Interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics and operation manuals
- Experience with semiconductor capital equipment
