Overview
As a Field Service Engineer at Lam, you will enable customers to maximize uptime of complex semiconductor equipment through on-site repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into effective service solutions, driving operational excellence for installed base equipment. Your work blends hands-on troubleshooting with technical mentoring and clear customer communication. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Provide on-site repair, maintenance, installation, and relocation start-up services for Lam’s electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites
- Diagnose issues through diagnostics and component-level analysis to minimize downtime and interruptions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products via learning and certification
- Assist in complex field modifications and updates, coordinating activities between Lam and customers
- Act as a subject matter expert representing Lam and delivering high customer satisfaction
- Develop customer response action plans and discuss opportunities and challenges transparently to build trust
- Provide technical instruction and mentoring for junior engineers
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or equivalent work experience
- Experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals
- Ability to work in a clean room environment with proper PPE
- Physical ability to perform job tasks (bending, stooping, lifting, standing) for extended periods
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work varied shifts including overtime and on-call
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Analytical and problem-solving skills

- Interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics and operation manuals
