About the position

The General Ledger & Group Consolidation Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting group consolidation activities and preparing statutory accounts. The role ensures compliance with local GAAP and IFRS contributes to timely and precise reporting of the company’s financial position and facilitates the annual audit process.

Your main responsibilities

1. General Ledger Accounting

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger of selected entities throughout the fiscal year.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly tax forms (VAT/other local taxes)
• Ensure compliance with local statutory accounting standards and internal policies.

2. Yearly Statutory Accounts

• Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with local GAAP requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide all necessary documentation for year-end audits.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory filings and regulatory reports.
• Prepare supporting schedules, disclosures, and notes for annual reports.

3. Consolidation & Group Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of Group consolidated financial statements (“Teilkonzern” under local GAAP (HGB)/BilmoG) and IRFS
• Collect and validate financial data from subsidiaries and other business units.
• Perform consolidation adjustments, including intercompany eliminations and currency translations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting cycles.

4. Internal Controls & Compliance

• Maintain internal controls over accounting and reporting processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
