Language Line Solutions is hiring an interpreter who will work from home, directly serving a variety of industries including healthcare, government, insurance, financial, utilities, travel & hospitality, general business, law enforcement, courts, and 911.

Bahdini and English speakers. The interpreter works across a wide range of industries, processes information quickly and concisely, and maintains professional courtesy at all times.

This is a remote position; the interpreter must work from a quiet, secure home office.

Essential Job Functions

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions, even when speakers are incoherent or upset, especially in emergencies such as 911 calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and comply with protocol to meet client expectations, avoiding interaction with the LEP without permission.
• Understand protocol and terminology for industries including medical, insurance, finance, and law.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity.
• Some calls may be highly emotional or extended; the interpreter must meet company service standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in

Bahdini and English, with cultural competency skills.

• Ability to assess regional and accent differences and find effective communication methods for LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note‑taking skills for high accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, remain detached, neutral, and objective during sensitive subjects such as end‑of‑life conversations, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and matters concerning sexual orientation or gender expression.
• Education or experience in language‑related fields (teaching, assessment, translation, or interpretation) preferred.
• Ability to adapt to LLS technology enhancements to meet client demands.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship (e. g., H1‑B, F‑1 OPT, TN, or other non‑immigrant status).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current employment by a LLS client or affiliated business may disqualify application.
• Ability to read and write requested languages is highly preferred.
• Technical Requirements

• Dedicated personal device for business purposes

• Desktop/laptop with Windows, mac OS, or Chrome OS.
• Tablets (i Pad OS or Android) acceptable.
• Smartphones (i OS or Android) acceptable.

• High‑speed Internet connection: download minimum 5 Mbps, upload 3 Mbps, ping ≤300 ms, jitter ≤30 ms.

Physical Requirements

• Operate keyboard and mouse and remain stationary in front of a computer most of the workday.
• Operate company software and systems for all job aspects.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write.
• Ability to lift up to 26 lbs.
• Exposed to moderate noise levels (computer, audio, telephone).
