Job Highlights
- Establish contracts from initial bid packages through bid award, negotiation (including pricing, terms & conditions, scope of work, etc.) through final agreement, with the approval of the appropriate LANXESS PRO and BU/GF management.
- Ensure compliance of established departmental objectives with regard to supplier evaluations, sustainability initiatives, supplier visit reports, cost reduction reporting, etc. using the appropriate LANXESS tools.
- Development and recommend short- and long-term regional category strategies, aligned with Global Leadership in Professional Services, General Services and IT that provide cost-competitive services.
- Analyze market structure, trends, technical developments and regulatory trends that impact competitiveness and/or affect availability and delivered cost of services/supplies.
- Negotiate resolution of disputes, changes in scope and services price changes where applicable.
- Communicate procurement strategies to internal stakeholders and present a “one voice” message to potential suppliers to conduct fair and effective bid processes; implement transition plans for new supplier programs to ensure procurement strategy execution.
- Manage ongoing relationships with suppliers’ sales and business leaders.
- Comply with all established departmental objectives with regards to supplier evaluations, supplier visit reports, cost savings reporting etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Finance or Business Administration with preference for an MBA.
- 5 – 10 years of relevant experience.
- 5 years of relevant GSSTIT experience or an MBA/MS with 5 years of relevant strategic procurement experience is required.
- Professional Certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise and practical experience with general services, site services, supplies, travel and IT categories and of the major factors that influence markets and prices for the major materials are within the position’s responsibility.
- Solid market knowledge and ability to quickly become recognized internally and externally for the relevant categories.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are required. Proven ability to develop and deliver persuasive argumentation in pricing and contract negotiations is essential to the achievement of LANXESS’ objectives.
- This is a HYBRID role located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. The expectation is that the candidate will be able to be on site at least 3 days per week every week.
