Job Highlights

Phase 1

  • Hands-on training and mentorship from Lanxess Production, Technology, Safety, and Environment (PTSE) Americas organization.  Work with experienced engineers in the areas of process engineering, occupational health & safety, process safety, environmental, capital projects development, and more. 
  • Support projects and activities at multiple Lanxess manufacturing sites in North America
  • Travel to several manufacturing sites with PTSE project/audit teams

Phase 2 & 3

  • Progress a defined project to improve operations at manufacturing site.  Projects may be in the areas of:
  • Health/Safety/Env: process safety, occupational safety, environmental, etc.
  • Operations Support:  process data analysis, troubleshooting, engineering drawings, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement:  productivity, energy/raw material usage, etc.
  • Growth: capital project scoping/support, debottlenecking proposals, etc.
  • Hands-on training and mentorship from plant management and engineering teams
  • Communicate with a wide variety of team members including plant operations, plant maintenance, plant engineering, plant management, PTSE experts, etc.
  • Present project progress and results to plant, PTSE and regional leadership teams
  • Ensure that all work is consistent with Lanxess core values of safety, environmental care, and product quality
  • Develop professional skills such as communication, accountability, and leadership as part of Lanxess Performance Culture

Requirements

  • This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, environmental)
  • Highly motivated and capable of addressing complex projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at the same time
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse teams
  • Effecitve oral/written communication skills to address a variety of audiences
  • Solid organizational, task management, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to use adacemic know-how to solve real world technical problems
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
  • Willingness to relocate domestically for multiple assignments over a period of 2-3 years
