Field Specialist - Bolt Product

As a Field Specialist - Bolt Product you will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, testing, and operation of baffle and clevis bolt equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide.
The role includes equipment repair, remote‑controlled tool operation, on‑site execution, maintenance preparation, and close collaboration with engineering product teams to validate and improve the product and processes.
On‑site, the field specialist will be the shift lead, leading a team of technicians and/or engineers (3‑6) and being the most knowledgeable person in the team for the equipment itself, processes, and all auxiliary equipment (Vacuum System, Base Plate, Support Structures, etc.).
You will report to the Engineering Manager and be located at Mannheim.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance of bolt replacement equipment and other specialist field service equipment.
- Commissioning and testing of new designed specialist field service equipment.
- Support Product and Development Engineers during testing phases (parameter development, validation, troubleshooting).
- Training of new team members and subcontractors on the bolt replacement equipment.
- On-site operation of the bolt replacement equipment, leading small teams (Shift/Jump leads) and other Westinghouse products in Nuclear Power plants worldwide.
- Manufacturing or modification of electrical and mechanical components.
- Assembly of equipment and tooling.
- Cross-departmental and international collaboration with teams in several countries.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of the bolt replacement equipment (at least 7 jobs worldwide as platform worker minimum 1x, Tool Specialist minimum 2x, Tool Operator minimum 2x).
- Minimum 2–3 participations in the maintenance of the bolt replacement equipment or similar complex field service equipment.
- Preferred experience as a shift lead / jump lead during a bolt replacement job (Baffle or Clevis). Basic knowledge of computers, software installation, and networking.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude.
- Ability to read technical documentation (mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, procedures).
- English proficiency: minimum A2 required; B1 or higher preferred.
- Local language proficiency (Germany, Spain, Belgium): native level or C1/C2 equivalent.
