Location: Aachen, Germany (base; regular travel to other European sites)
Reports to: HR Head, HQ (China) / Head of Business in Europe
About the Role
We are a fast-growing technology-driven electric control solution provider focusing on the new energy vehicle sector, headquartered in Shanghai, with an R&D center in Aachen (Germany), a manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic, and further European sites planned.
We are looking for an HR Manager to take ownership of HR for our European organization. In this role you will directly support the German R&D center, and at the same time manage the onsite HR Manager at our Czech plant — with additional country HR managers to be managed later.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. HQ Policy Implementation & Company Culture
- Implement and localize HQ HR policies, processes and projects across European sites, ensuring alignment with HQ standards, timelines and quality
- Champion and promote the company culture, fostering a shared culture with HQ and across the growing European footprint
- 2. HR for the German R&D Center (direct support)
- Act as the day-to-day HR partner for the Aachen R&D organization: recruitment of engineers, onboarding, employment contracts, employee relations, performance management and development
- Handle German HR operations: payroll, social security and statutory matters, working-time compliance, GDPR, and works-council / employee-representation topics where applicable
- 3. Management of Onsite HR Managers (Czech Republic & future sites)
- Manage and support the onsite HR Manager at the Czech plant across all HR programs and day-to-day plant HR operations.
- Ensure consistent HR standards and practices across sites; coach and develop onsite HR managers as the European footprint grows
- Act as escalation point for complex or sensitive HR cases from the sites
- 4. Cross-Site Coordination & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws (German and Czech first; additional jurisdictions as new sites open), working-time regulations, GDPR, and ESG requirements such as the EU Forced Labor Regulation (2027) and supply-chain due-diligence audits
- Facilitate collaboration and consistency between European sites
Qualifications Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above; HR or legal background preferred
- 8–10 years of HR experience, including experience in a manufacturing / R&D environment (automotive, electronics or robotics preferred)
- Solid hands-on HR experience in Germany, plus experience managing other HR professionals (site HR managers or HR generalists)
- Solid knowledge of German labor law; working knowledge of Czech labor law is a strong plus; ability to adapt to additional European jurisdictions
- Full-spectrum HR experience covering organization development, talent acquisition, L&D, performance management, retention and employee relations
- Fluent in German and English (business level); Chinese is a big plus
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder-management skills; comfortable in a multicultural, matrix organization
- Willingness to travel regularly to Czech plant and other sites later
