The Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID) in Trier, Germany, is an internationally recognized research-based psychology service center and a member of the Leibniz Association. ZPID is an Open Science service provider and conducts research on science acceptance, big data, and metascience in psychology.

Together with the Leibniz Lab Pandemic Preparedness we are searching for a

Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d)

Preferred start date October 1, 2026. The selection will be made jointly by the ZPID, offering part-time employment, and a partnering foundation offering a stipend.

Duties and functions:

The stipend will support the successful candidate in conducting a self-developed research project on science communication in the context of the Leibniz Lab Pandemic Preparedness, focusing on pandemic prevention and responses to health crises, in collaboration with Marlene Altenmüller and/or Kai Sassenberg. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of the Leibniz Lab PhD programs part of the employment (E13, 33%) at ZPID.

Your profile:

  • PhD in psychology, communication science, or a related discipline
  • Experienced in quantitative research on science communication
  • Profound English skills (spoken and written), German skills advantageous but not required
  • Motivation for and skills in organizational and coordination activities
