The Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE - Sustainable Architecture for Finance in Europe - (www.safe-frankfurt.de) promotes scientific research, transfer work to the public and independent policy advice on all aspects relating to the structure and functioning of the financial system. It aims to contribute to strengthening a sustainable and resilient financial system that drives innovation and serves the needs of the economy and citizens. Researchers from the fields of economics, law, and political science collaborate at SAFE.

Your profile:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Finance or in Economics or a closely related area by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. We are particularly looking for researchers in the areas of Financial Intermediation or Macro Finance but are open to considering others.

We welcome applications from candidates who are looking to build out their portfolio for 2-3 years before going on the job market, as well as candidates who would like to spend 1 year at SAFE before taking up a position at a leading research university or research-active policy organization.

The infrastructure of a modern research institute with excellent contacts to the international scientific and policy-making community. You will be working in a highly attractive working environment in the House of Finance at Goethe University and with an enthusiastic team of colleagues.

• *Compensation will be 100% of a full-time position in accordance with the standards of the public services wage agreement of the State of Hesse (TV-H E 13) or equivalent. This translates to 60,000-75,000€ gros salary depending on relevant work experience.

The position is initially limited to two years with the option of a one-year extension. Applications of candidates who seek a shorter transitionary position before taking on the next steps in their careers are also welcome.

There is no teaching load assigned to this position. Involvement in the teaching of Goethe University Frankfurt’s bachelor, master, and/or Ph.D. programs is possible.
