InfoBlox Network Engineer in Ludwigsburg

Overview

As an Infoblox Subject Matter Expert, you will own the primary technical authority for AFRICOM’s DDI infrastructure, ensuring 100% availability across a global, classified network. You will design and operate a resilient Infoblox Grid, automate IPAM workflows, and harden DNS against threats. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to optimize DNS/DHCP/IPAM services, integrate with cloud/virtual environments, and drive secure, scalable network operations. This role combines hands-on engineering with security-focused operations, in a mission-driven environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Design, deploy, and maintain a highly available Infoblox NIOS Grid architecture (Grid Masters and distributed members)
• Manage authoritative and recursive DNS services including DNSSEC, traffic steering, and high-performance caching
• Architect and manage robust DHCP services with failover for diverse endpoints across global sites
• Maintain global IPAM database with subnet allocation and cloud/virtual integration
• Implement DNS security features (RPZ, DNS Firewall, Infoblox TIDE) to mitigate threats
• Utilize Infoblox WAPI (REST API) to automate IP allocation and DNS updates; integrate with Ansible or Terraform
• Plan and execute non-disruptive NIOS upgrades and hardware refreshes globally
• Leverage Infoblox Reporting and Analytics for trend identification, troubleshooting, and capacity planning

• Active Top Secret security clearance
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
• Minimum 5 years hands-on Infoblox NIOS administration and DDI protocol experience
• Deep understanding of BIND, DHCP options, DNS record types, and IP subnetting/VLSM
