We're a boutique, privately owned virtual accounting firm based in Texas dedicated to helping small business owners and high-income individuals navigate their accounting and tax needs with confidence. We're currently entering an exciting phase of growth, expanding from approximately 160 to 250+ clients while intentionally building the systems and infrastructure needed to support that growth. Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounting for multiple clients, including transaction categorization, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly or quarterly close procedures.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Review general ledger activity and research unusual or inaccurate balances.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and other accounting-related compliance matters.
- Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve questions, and provide updates.
- Develop the ability to explain financial results and participate in client review meetings.
- Identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities within client financial statements.
- Maintain organized documentation and accounting workpapers.
- Manage multiple client deadlines and assignments.
- Use accounting software and technology to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay current on relevant accounting standards and regulations.
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Public accounting experience is helpful but not required.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop preferred.
- Understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take increasing ownership of client work.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
