About the Role

We are currently looking for multiple student analysts / data scientists to join our growing energy analytics team in Karlsruhe or Düsseldorf (Germany) or London (United Kingdom). During your time with us, you will help us shape our European power, hydrogen, gas and carbon analytics and develop insight into the European energy commodity markets. As a student at ICIS, you will work on your own project, develop your own ideas and contribute significantly to our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of new tools, features and models, using state-of-the-art data science methods (also using AI if needed)
  • Understanding the wider energy complex consisting of power, gas, carbon, coal, hydrogen and ammonia markets
  • Supporting the analyst team in the day-to-day business, analyzing the market, running the fundamental model, operations
  • Implementation of model results on our client-facing EU analytics portal

Minimum Requirements:

  • Affinity and basic understanding of energy markets
  • Preferably some coding skills in Python, C++, Java, GAMS, HTML, SQL, etc.
  • Analytical mindset, critical thinking, and solid numerical ability
  • High level of interest in learning new modelling techniques
  • Good communication skills in English as you will work in an international environment
  • To apply for this role you need to be enrolled at a top 10 university in Germany
