For one of our clients we are seeking a commercially minded and analytical professional to join a global Generic Sourcing team responsible for the procurement and strategic sourcing of generic pharmaceuticals across multiple international markets.
In this role, you will support the development and execution of sourcing strategies designed to secure competitive pricing, maximize savings, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure a reliable supply of high-quality generic medicines. You will collaborate closely with Category Management, Finance, and senior stakeholders while contributing to strategic procurement initiatives, contract negotiations, vendor management activities, and business improvement projects.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in pharmaceutical procurement, category management, sourcing, commercial analysis, or supplier relationship management who are looking to further develop their career within a global healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities Support the execution of strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives for generic pharmaceutical products. Assist in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, profitability, and long-term supplier partnerships. Support category managers in delivering business plans, budgets, performance objectives, and key sourcing initiatives. Contribute to supplier selection processes, competitive tenders, bidding activities, and sourcing events. Assist with vendor contract negotiations to secure competitive pricing, rebates, discounts, service fees, and favorable commercial terms. Build and maintain productive relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and external business partners. Monitor supplier performance and support efforts to ensure uninterrupted product availability and supply continuity. Conduct commercial analyses related to pricing, market opportunities, sourcing strategies, profitability, and cost optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Category Management to support strategic objectives. Assist in resolving supplier-related commercial, contractual, and financial issues in partnership with internal stakeholders. Prepare reports, business reviews, and recommendations for management and senior leadership. Support ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the Generic Sourcing function.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience within pharmaceutical sourcing, procurement, purchasing, category management, supplier management, commercial analysis, contracting, or a related discipline. Experience working with generic pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, or healthcare procurement organizations is highly desirable. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders across different functions. Prior exposure to supplier negotiations, contract management, tendering activities, or strategic sourcing initiatives.
This role is a fully on-site role requiring willingness to travel up to 20% for business purposes.
