ppWe are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer (GitLab Platform) to join a leading telecommunications company in Zurich. This is a high-impact contract opportunity with strong prospects for permanent employment. /p pLanguages: English (fluent) and German (B1) /p h3Your Responsibilities /h3 ul liOperate, maintain, and continuously enhance the GitLab platform (Self-Managed) as the central tool for CI/CD, source control, and collaboration. /li liDesign and optimize CI/CD pipelines and shared pipeline templates for development teams. /li liIntegrate and operate developer tooling, including container registries, artifact management, code quality tools, and security scanning solutions. /li liAutomate provisioning, upgrades, and configuration of the GitLab infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD. /li liEnsure high availability, performance, and security of the platform. /li liSupport development teams in adopting and optimizing their CI/CD workflows. /li liDefine and implement operational models for monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery. /li /ul h3Your Profile /h3 ul liDegree in Computer Science (University, University of Applied Sciences, Higher Technical Education, or equivalent certification) or comparable further education, combined with several years of professional experience. /li liExtensive experience operating and administering GitLab (Self-Managed), including GitLab CI/CD, runner management, and platform configuration. /li liStrong knowledge of CI/CD concepts, pipeline design, and automation. /li liExperience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and their integration into CI/CD workflows. /li liGood knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Helm. /li liSolid Linux and system engineering experience. /li liProven ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing platforms and deliver value from day one. /li liIndependent and pragmatic working style with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. /li liStrong team spirit and enjoyment of collaborating with development teams. /li liFluent English; German is an advantage. /li /ul h3Nice-to-Have Skills /h3 ul liExperience with GitLab Geo, GitLab Pages, or GitLab Kubernetes Agent. /li liKnowledge of security tooling, including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and container scanning. /li liExperience with artifact management systems such as Harbor, Nexus, or Artifactory. /li liKnowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, as well as log management solutions.Experience with ArgoCD or other GitOps tools. /li liExperience in service provider, telecommunications (Telco), or managed services environments. /li liWillingness to participate in on-call duty rotations and residence in Switzerland. /li /ul h3Additional Information /h3 ul liFlexible working arrangements with hybrid work options and the possibility to work from home. /li liStrong potential for permanent employment based on performance and business needs. /li liJoin a highly skilled engineering organization, working alongside 11 Kubernetes Engineers and 7 OpenShift Engineers. /li liContribute to strategic platform initiatives as well as complex enterprise-scale customer projects. /li liGain hands-on experience with cutting-edge cloud-native technologies across the Kubernetes and OpenShift ecosystem. /li liModern office environment in Zurich with a flexible hybrid working model following the onboarding period. /li liCollaborative, innovation-driven culture focused on continuous learning, automation, and operational excellence. /li liContract Duration: 1 September 2026 to 31 December 2027 /li liWorkload: 80-100% /li liEmployment Type: Temporary contract with the option for permanent internalization /li liLocation: Zurich, Switzerland (Hybrid) /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
