In this role you lead the enterprise data catalogue program across a complex landscape, driving adoption among business and IT. You own catalogue operations, ensure data accuracy and quality, and shape metadata ingestion, classification, and lineage. You work cross-functionally to align divisions with governance and data standards, while evolving the global data architecture. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Drive the implementation, deployment and group-wide rollout of the Enterprise Data Catalogue across a complex landscape and promote adoption among business and IT
- Own catalogue operations: maintain, administer, and continuously improve it post-launch
- Design/configure metadata ingestion, data classification, and data lineage across multiple data domains and source systems
- Lead cross-functional initiative spanning all divisions, coordinating stakeholders toward a shared outcome
- Define and run the operating model for the catalogue: onboarding domains/sources, releases, upgrades, usage and data quality monitoring
- Propose improvements to catalogue structure, governance processes and adoption strategy
- Support data standards and evolution of the global data architecture
- Document/manage system-agnostic data definitions across multiple data domains
- Create/maintain conceptual and logical data models (LeanIX modelling) and architectural documentation
- Collaborate with Data Domain Architects and Business Representatives for consistency and quality
- Support coordination and implementation of data governance initiatives and frameworks
Zentrale Anforderungen
- A degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Data Management, or a related field
- 5+ years in data architecture or data governance with hands-on implementation and operation of a data catalogue (e.g. Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Microsoft Purview, OpenMetadata, DataHub)
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects across multiple divisions and stakeholder groups
- Proven experience deploying, integrating, and running tooling in a complex, multi-source enterprise environment
- Solid understanding of metadata management, data classification, and data lineage
- Knowledge of data modelling techniques (conceptual, logical, physical) and data governance principles
- Proactive, proposal-driven mindset with experience identifying gaps and driving adoption
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive adoption across diverse teams
- Knowledge of SAP data model, knowledge graphs, or graph-based metadata models is a plus
- Familiarity with LeanIX is preferred or willingness to learn
- Broad knowledge of SQL and NoSQL is a plus
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment environments is a strong advantage
- Fluent English; German and French are a plus
