The Chair of English Linguistics of the University of Regensburg’s Department of English and American Studies enjoys an international reputation in research and offers a wide range of courses. With 130 students in the BA, 16 in the international MA English Linguistics, and 1051 in the teacher trainee program, the chair covers a high percentage of the supervision and teaching in the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. Research and teaching focuses on World Englishes, sociolinguistics, language history and development, corpus linguistics as well as basic structural linguistics (phonology, syntax, morphology, pragmatics, etc.).

We are looking for a full-time lecturer (Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben) to teach 17 contact hours per week during term time, fixed-term for 2 years. Teaching duties are in synchronic English linguistics at BA, MA, and teacher trainee levels, in tutorials, seminars, and exam preparation classes. Teaching is primarily in English, although candidates with an ability to teach state exam preparation courses in German at C2 level will be given preference.
