Job Title: Freelance Cloud Security ConsultantLocation: RemoteContract Type: Freelance / ContractDuration: 6 months (possible extension)Start Date: ASAPOne of our managed service customers is seeking an experienced and results-driven Cloud Security Consultant to support their customer in strengthening its cloud security posture. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), experience with cloud-native security tools, and a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.Key Responsibilities:Conduct security assessments of cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)Identify risks, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities across cloud environmentsImplement and improve cloud security controls, including IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoringDesign and enforce security policies and procedures for cloud deploymentsSupport incident response and threat detection efforts in cloud ecosystemsProvide recommendations and technical documentation aligned with best practices (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001)Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to embed security in CI/CD pipelinesEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)Requirements:Proven experience as a cloud security engineer, architect, or consultantStrong expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with tools like AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, GCP Security Command Center, Prisma Cloud, or similarHands-on experience with security automation and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)Knowledge of network security, identity management, and cloud-native threat modelingRelevant certifications such as CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or equivalentExcellent communication skills and the ability to deliver clear security guidancePreferred Qualifications:Experience in multi-cloud environmentsFamiliarity with container and Kubernetes securityPrevious freelance or consulting experience
