Sales director - alternative investments
Asset Manager. The role is primarily focused on driving new capital inflows through active prospecting, relationship development and execution.
Key responsibilities
- Origination & Business Development
- Proactively source and originate new investor relationships through personal network and market activity
- Develop new business opportunities across institutional investors, family offices, private banks and distributors
- Actively build and expand a qualified investor pipeline
- Capital Raising & Execution
- Lead end-to-end fundraising processes from first contact to closing
- Drive capital raising across alternative strategies (hedge funds, private markets, private debt, etc.)
- Negotiate terms and convert opportunities into committed capital
- Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management
- Define and execute targeted fundraising strategies
- Maintain strong pipeline discipline with clear conversion focus
- Track activity and performance through CRM tools
- Market Development & Representation
- Represent the firm in client meetings, roadshows and industry events
- Position investment solutions in a competitive market environment
- Contribute to expanding the firm's investor footprint
- Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with investment and product teams to align offering with investor demand
- Support due diligence processes with a strong commercial focus
Qualifications
- 15+ years experience in Sales/Fundraising
- Experience in Alternative Investments (Hedge Fund, Private Debt, PE, RE)
- 15+ years of experience in institutional sales / fundraising within asset management or alternatives
- Proven and demonstrable track record of raising capital and closing mandates
- Strong existing and active network across institutional investors and wealth channels
- Strong hunter mindset with a focus on new business generation
- Demonstrated ability to originate, negotiate and close deals
- Commercial drive and revenue-oriented approach
- Experience across alternative asset classes (hedge funds, private markets, private debt, real assets)
- Ability to operate autonomously in an entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Fluent in French and English; Spanish is a plus
