The Role

As an Electrical Field Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and engineering support throughout the full lifecycle of critical infrastructure projects. You will act as a key engineering resource, partnering with operations, construction, commissioning, design, and programme teams to ensure facilities are delivered and operated to the highest standards of reliability, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess electrical designs and equipment submissions for new facility developments.
  • Provide technical support for operational issues, equipment failures, and critical incidents.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
  • Develop engineering solutions that increase capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and availability.
  • Support commissioning, construction, and handover activities on major infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct engineering audits and site assessments, identifying risks and recommending improvements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across operations, design, controls, safety, and project delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across different locations.
  • Travel regularly to operational sites within the region and internationally when required.

Basic Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience within mission‑critical or industrial environments such as: Data Centres / Power Generation / Utilities / Oil & Gas / Industrial Manufacturing / Critical Facilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within data centre environments.
  • Knowledge of critical electrical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, transfer switches, and power distribution.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems supporting critical facilities.
  • Experience with BMS, EPMS, or SCADA control systems.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting construction, commissioning, or operational environments.
  • Data analytics, scripting, or automation experience.
  • German language skills would be advantageous.
