Civil Project Manager role at Linxon in Stuttgart, Germany.

This is a full-time, on-site position focused on civil scope for substation projects with regard to scope, cost, time and quality.

Responsibilities

• Define civil tendering, engineering, building facilities and construction strategy with the local business unit and other involved organizations.
• Prepare and administer standard documents for tendering, engineering and execution.
• Establish effective communication procedures within internal and external partners, including a clear process between Site Management, Engineering, and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor ongoing civil projects through a defined review process, tracking on-time delivery, quality, cost, claims and occupational health and safety (OHS).
• Monitor the construction market with the Supply Chain Manager and Project Manager to assess potential short- or long-term changes impacting tenders or projects.
• Prequalify civil subcontractors to ensure a pool of qualified suppliers for current and future tenders; assist in identifying and prequalifying subcontractors for specialized earth and foundation works, structural works, steel works, precast, earth works, site infrastructure, lighting and small power, HVAC, firefighting, and related activities.
• Coordinate with external civil planners to ensure design complies with customer and Linxon specifications while optimizing cost.
• Provide early warning on matters affecting cost, time and quality; establish and maintain customer representative authority and procedures as needed.
• Attend client meetings and interface with site construction meetings as required.
• Support quality management by helping establish project-specific quality plans and checklists; ensure traceability of documentation and correspondence in line with the company’s document control system.
• Maintain overall civil authority for civil engineering, building services, construction and erection activities, with appropriate delegation in coordination with project leadership.
• Engage services of staff and consultants as needed to support successful execution of civil activities, following recognized procedures.
• Ensure access to comprehensive and binding information relevant to the department and projects from involved functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: degree in Civil Engineering or related construction field.
• At least 10 years of civil engineering or construction experience.
• At least 5 years of plant design experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the German civil construction market and building standards.
• Basic substation knowledge; computer literacy (documents, spreadsheets, general software).
• Fluent in German (written and spoken); English minimal proficiency to communicate with engineering centers (e. g., in India).
• Willingness to travel regularly.
