Director Global Operations Strategy and Operational Excellence (m/f/d)
This role will oversee all transformative efforts stemming from this long-term vision, such as the implementation of a new manufacturing footprint or value creation initiative as well as develop and establish a new understanding of Operational Excellence, embedding digital approaches into all continuous improvement efforts. The role is part of the Operations Leadership Team and provides direct support to the Vice President Global Operations Cardiopulmonary.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy

• Maintain and continuously refine the strategic vision for end-to-end operations and initiate critical projects to fill gaps
• Ensure relevant exchange across functions
• Collaborate with commercial teams to establish a long-term view on capacity needs
• Align global footprint, product allocations, and capacity planning with growth, efficiency, and sustainability objectives based on clear site roles and missions
• Shape capital investment strategies and support sourcing decisions

Transformation

• Translate overall vision and initiatives into a transformation roadmap and structured operations project portfolio
• Lead and coach project managers and initiative leads to deliver tangible, aligned results
• Establish and lead a high-impact PMO to support project teams
• Define and drive the implementation of new technologies
• Initiate and support required product and technology transfers
• Drive additional transformation initiatives

Operational Excellence

• Act as global anchor point for Operational Excellence
• Identify and assess future technology trends in collaboration with internal experts and external partners and match with operations requirements
• Promote digitalization and AI-based applications
• Drive the harmonization of IT and operational technology systems
• Ensure close integration with the LivaNova Business System
• Lead the design and global rollout of future-oriented processes

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred
• Several years of progressive experience in global operations, manufacturing strategy, or supply chain management, preferably within the medical device or healthcare industry
• Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation initiatives and operational excellence programs
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and complex project portfolios across global sites
• Strong understanding of digital transformation, Industry 4.0 technologies, and AI-driven operational improvements
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in a highly regulated industry (e.g., FDA, ISO)
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools; PMP or similar certification is a plus
