A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to join its team on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead the mechanical package on a large-scale mission-critical project, managing site delivery, subcontractors, procurement, quality, safety, costs and programme performance.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the mechanical package and day-to-day site operations.Oversee site safety and quality assurance for mechanical works.Coordinate project schedules with the project team, engineers and client.Manage package costs, subcontractors, materials, plant, variations and valuations.Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.Coordinate procurement and ensure materials and equipment arrive on schedule.Monitor subcontractor progress, labour levels and programme performance.Manage snagging, punch lists and outstanding works.Attend site meetings, engineering reviews, planning meetings and handover meetings.Prepare progress reports, labour projections and safety statistics.Ensure subcontractor safety and technical documentation is maintained.Manage change control, including cost and programme impacts.Coordinate project close-out, final accounts, O&M manuals, QA files and handover documentation.Work with commercial teams to capture variations and manage costs.Ensure company procedures and project standards are followed.RequirementsTrade background with a relevant third-level qualification.Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer.Proven experience coordinating mechanical works on construction projects.Strong understanding of mechanical installation and subcontractor management.Experience managing project schedules, procurement, costs and quality.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD and MS Project.Strong communication and organisational skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Experience delivering large-scale construction projects is desirable.Flexibility to travel.Package120,000–130,000 salary, depending on experience.Accommodation provided.Rotation included.Travel covered.28,000 living allowance.Opportunity to work on a major data centre project with an established international contractor.Career development and progression.Interested?
