Overview
In this role you will lead the design management on a major data centre development in Frankfurt, guiding the process from concept to handover. You will coordinate design consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet programme and client requirements, while managing design changes, VE, and buildability reviews. You will ensure compliance with specifications and standards, chair design meetings, and support procurement with technical input. This is a senior, site-based opportunity with a multinational contractor delivering technically complex projects.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Manage the design process from concept through construction and handover
- Coordinate design consultants, specialist subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensure design information is issued in line with the construction programme
- Manage design change, value engineering, and buildability reviews
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, statutory requirements, and industry standards
- Chair and manage design team meetings and technical workshops
- Support procurement through technical input and design development
- Work closely with commercial, construction, and commissioning teams
- Ensure quality, safety, and technical risk are managed through design
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Degree-qualified in Architecture, Engineering, or a related construction discipline
- Proven experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor
- Strong background delivering large-scale, technically complex projects (data centres, pharma, life sciences, or similar) advantageous
- Excellent understanding of the design and construction process
- Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple design packages in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with BIM processes and digital design coordination tools
- Willingness to be site-based in Frankfurt (relocation or expat package typically available)
