Overview
As a Senior/Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will steer mechanical design for hyperscale data centres, acting as technical authority within multidisciplinary teams. You will shape cooling and mechanical infrastructure strategies, collaborating with clients, architects, and delivery teams. This role focuses on delivering high-performance cooling solutions and reliable plantroom layouts while ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll work in a consultancy with an engineering-led culture, offering strong career progression and impactful, mission-critical projects.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead mechanical design for hyperscale and colocation data centres
- Develop cooling strategies including chilled water, CRAH/CRAC, and liquid cooling
- Design and review HVAC systems, plant rooms, and mechanical distribution networks
- Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines
- Review and approve mechanical calculations, specifications, and drawings
- Provide technical leadership across concept, detailed design, and IFC stages
- Support construction teams and commissioning activities
- Ensure compliance with German regulations and international standards
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer / Building Services Engineer
- Proven data centre mechanical design experience (essential)
- Strong understanding of HVAC, chilled water systems, cooling redundancy, and thermal management
- Experience in engineering consultancies or technical advisory roles
