About us:

The Institute for Financial Innovation & Technology at LMU Munich School of Management conducts rigorous, relevant and exciting academic research and teaching in the domain of financial innovation and technology. We cover topics in market microstructure, high frequency capital markets and technology, cryptocurrencies, blockchain economics, financial data science and the application of machine learning techniques in a financial context. We present our research at international conferences and publish in leading journals, offering access to the national and international academic job market while collaborating with the (local) FinTech industry. Our team welcomes new members in a dynamic, international and academically stimulating environment.

We are looking for you:

Research and Teaching Assistant (m/f/x)

Your tasks and responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will take on a research role quickly. As the seventh Research Assistants of the newly found institute, you will be able to work independently and collaboratively with the research staff of the institute while writing papers publishable in top finance journals. With your teaching and research, you work towards the completion of a German PhD degree. The mandatory teaching obligation comprises 5 semester hours per week.

You hold an excellent academic record and a completed Master degree in Finance, Management, Business Administration, Economics, Informatics, Math, Computer Science, or a related field. You are familiar with empirical methods and understand how to interpret the results of statistical analyses. You are intellectually curious, possess strong analytical capabilities, and are a competent programmer in Python and/or R. You complement our team with strong organizational skills, are proactive and goal-oriented, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and possess excellent English skills (written and oral).
