MEDICAL SECRETARY (M/F) – REF° 4680X Type of contract: Part-time and undetermined duration contract (CDI) The Laboratoire national de santé (Luxembourg public institution) is recruiting a Department Secretary Ref° 4680x (m/f) for the Department Health Protection in a part time position (20h/week) with a permanent contract. ABOUT THE LABORATOIRE NATIONAL DE SANTE The LNS is a major player in Luxembourg’s healthcare sector, serving the country’s patients, doctors and hospitals. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Social Security, the LNS is a multidisciplinary public institution organized around six medical departments, two of which are designated as national diagnostic centers for human genetics and pathology respectively.
The LNS employs around 400 highly qualified staff with diverse backgrounds. The main purpose of the LNS is to develop analytical activities and scientific expertise relating to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases; to act as a national control or reference laboratory; and to carry out forensic missions. The LNS also collaborates with the University of Luxembourg and other biomedical research institutions, both nationally and internationally, on research and teaching activities.
In particular, in the field of diagnostics, the LNS covers the following fields of application: medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine, environmental medicine, morphological and molecular pathology, and clinical genetics, as well as sequencing for rare diseases, oncology and pathogens. About the Department Health Protection The Department Health Protection (HP) supports public health and health care for problems caused or aggravated by the environment, including the indoor environment, the working context, consumer products, and food. We fulfill this mission through servicing, expert advice and applied research.
Our main stakeholders are the ministries, the hospitals and the services for occupational medicine in Luxembourg. The Department Health Protection is now looking for a secretary to support the head of the Department and the Service heads of SUBI and MEDI. JOB DESCRIPTION Organize and manage the appointments with the patients and the participants of the population monitoring programs; Participate in the intake and follow-up of patients and participants in the population monitoring programs at varying locations; Translate and format (scientific) documents and write letters; Handle mails and agendas; Organize meetings and be responsible for the logistic organization; Encode data from questionnaires and interviews in the appropriate database/statistical software; Encode financial orders and following-up on orders in line with LNS Central Financing; Ensure the administrative support for the Department head and the SUBI – MEDI Service heads, including the teaching and education activities Organize travels; Classify documents.
This list of tasks should not be considered exhaustive. Missions may vary depending on the specific needs of the Department. PROFILE Assistant-oriented training minimum level BAC; 5 years working experience as an assistant; Good knowledge of Microsoft editorial tools (e.g.
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others); Perfect fluency (oral and written) in French, English, German and Luxembourgish; Editorial proficiency and good communication skills (oral and written); Experience as medical secretary or working in settings in contact with patients is a major asset.
