Operations Support Specialist – Large Scale Mammalian
Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. Due to the growth at our site in Visp, we are currently looking for Operations Support and Manufacturing Specialists for our 6×20K Large Scale Mammalian Facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform operational activities within the Operations Support Team in partnership with Buffer Media Supply, USP and DSP.
- Manage receipt and inventory of raw materials and single‑use materials.
- Dispense small‑volume and large‑scale media and buffers.
- Process parts in washers and autoclaves; transport and store materials within temperature‑controlled requirements.
- Recognize, interpret, and eliminate deviations.
- Execute tasks in compliance with safety regulations and cGMP quality requirements.
- Support execution of production steps, including interaction with HMIs and automated systems.
- Participate in ongoing training to develop technical skills in a fast‑paced, large‑scale mammalian facility (6×20K bioreactors).
- Work in shifts (2‑ or 3‑shift patterns) with flexible scheduling; day shift schedule during the training period and establishment of the Operations Support Department.
Qualifications
- Fluent English; German language skills are advantageous.
- Completed chemical or biopharmaceutical education or vocational training preferred.
- Professional experience in pharmaceutical production as an operator/production technician in a GMP environment is a plus.
- Safety mindset with forklift and/or electric pallet truck training required.
- Continuous improvement mindset with attention to detail and support of 6S standards.
