Overview
In this role you will serve as a legal partner to Lonza’s Licensing Business, advising on commercial and technology-related matters to enable rapid development and commercialization of innovative therapies. You’ll draft and negotiate a range of contracts, support cross-functional teams (R&D, IP, BD, Manufacturing), and help implement AI tools to streamline legal workflows and contract templates. You will operate at the intersection of science and business, facilitating collaborations from early-stage research through commercialization. This is a dynamic, impact-focused role within a globally connected life sciences organization.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial and research-related contracts (confidentiality, material transfer, supply, research collaboration, and license agreements)
- Provide pragmatic legal guidance on commercial, operational, and technology matters
- Collaborate with IP, R&D, Business Development, and Manufacturing to support innovation projects and technology commercialization
- Help implement AI-driven tools to improve contract management and legal workflows
- Update and improve standard agreements to reflect industry standards in CDMO and pharmaceutical sectors
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Law degree with 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel in a CDMO, pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environment
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills across commercial, research, collaboration, supply and technology-related agreements
- Experience with licensing transactions is desirable but not required
- Ability to work cross-functionally and align legal strategies with business and regulatory needs
- Curiosity about scientific, commercial, and strategic context of technologies and business initiatives
- Initiative to streamline contract processes and improve templates and tools
- Strong written and spoken English; German is a plus
