In order to support our continued growth, Lonza is seeking Bioprocess Engineers with a relevant background in Life Sciences and a passion for Biotechnology to join our talent community in Visp, Switzerland . Become part of this exciting opportunity and join our team by applying for the position as Bioprocess Engineer in Upstream Processing or Downstream Processing or BioConjugate Manufacturing.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure that operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on-time and within given safety and quality standards.
- Act as the functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning, and changeover in the assigned area.
- Lead one or more defined USP areas (e.g., seed train, main cultivation, or harvest) for the production of therapeutic proteins with either mammalian or microbial expression systems (Bioprocess Engineer USP).
- In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g., capture, polishing, or filling) for the purification of therapeutic proteins from either mammalian or microbial cells (Bioprocess Engineer DSP).
- Responsible for entire processes or process units for clinical and commercial manufacturing projects in therapeutic BioConjugates like Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC) (Bioprocess Engineer BioConjugates).
Key requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject, or Bachelor’s holder with experience in pharma production.
- Knowledge in either USP (such as bioreactors) or DSP units (such as chromatography).
- Working experience in biomanufacturing would be an advantage.
- GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology.
- Excellent communication skills in English; good German skills are an advantage.
