Senior Process Expert - Visual Inspection (80‑100%) Location: Stein, AG, Switzerland. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.
Responsibilities
Lead the development, qualification, validation, and implementation of automated and semi‑automated visual inspection and container closure integrity testing (CCIT) processes, ensuring robust defect detection and product quality.
Support production staff on the shopfloor by providing scientific expertise.
Support GMP‑compliant qualification and validation activities of automated visual inspection systems from an operations perspective.
Prepare readiness for operative takeover of automated, semi‑automated, manual visual inspection and container closure integrity testing.
Accountable for safety, compliance, and regulatory aspects; prepare risk analysis and related procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Execute technical improvements and drive process‑related troubleshooting.
Lead or participate in change controls and deviations, using scientific and statistical knowledge to analyze data and identify root causes of product and process failures.
Represent the visual inspection and CCIT functions during regulatory inspections and audits.

Qualifications
Proven hands‑on experience in pharmaceutical visual inspection for drug product in vials or syringes, covering manual, semi‑automated, and/or fully automated visual inspection machines (AVI); experience across multiple inspection technologies is highly preferred.
Knowledge of qualification of visual inspection machines, product validation, and preferably Container Closure Integrity Testing (CCIT).
Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, building processes, standards, and solutions from the ground up with limited guidance and a strong continuous‑improvement mindset.
Fluent in either English or German (fluency in both languages is an advantage).
A relevant scientific or engineering degree is preferred; equivalent technical training combined with substantial industry experience will also be considered.
