While much of the industry focuses on advancing drone technology itself, we address the infrastructure behind it — helping define an emerging category, Unmanned Infrastructure Systems (UIS).
You own the physical system — the structure that survives the field, the thermal path that keeps the drone ready, and the qualification evidence that proves it.
Responsibilities
- Owning the mechanical architecture of the system: enclosure, launch mechanism, thermal management and mounting interfaces across land, maritime and vehicle-integrated variants
- Leading design for ruggedisation — shock, vibration, ingress protection, corrosion and temperature extremes
- Running FMEA on mechanical subsystems and closing findings through design change
- Designing for manufacture and assembly
- Defining the mechanical integration interface for new OEM drone types, so a new UAV can be brought onto the system predictably
- Owning the mechanical test programme: rig design, instrumentation, environmental testing and field trials
- Setting CAD, tolerancing and documentation standards, and mentoring working students
Your profile
- 10+ years in mechanical design of electromechanical products
- Demonstrated ownership of a product from concept through qualification into series production
- Expert in a 3D CAD package (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor or equivalent)
- Hands-on: you are in the workshop with the hardware, not only in review meetings
- German and English
