Loyola University Health System and Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine seeks an exceptional individual to direct the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition. The ideal candidate should be a nationally recognized leader with an established record of academic accomplishment in research, education, and clinical care. The selected candidate will also be committed to growing a division that sets the standards of a 21st Century department of medicine and medical school.
The Division Director provides leadership, direction and ongoing administration and management for all aspects of the Gastroenterology Division including clinical service, teaching and research. The candidate is responsible for recruitment and retention of high quality faculty and is a visible and accessible mentor and role model to all division faculty, as well as planning and leading initiatives to facilitate clinical quality, academic and clinical productivity and enhancement of patient satisfaction. The division director works directly with the department leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and hospital administration to create well rounded and efficient clinical services.
A medical degree and board certification in specialty are required. A strong track of research accomplishment is preferred. This is a full-time faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The candidate will be at the rank of Associate or Professor.
Loyola University Medical Center has a close partnership with Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, which lies immediately east of Hines' campus. Some faculty members have joint appointments at Hines and Loyola. Students and resident physicians rotate through Hines as part of their training. Researchers from Loyola and Hines collaborate closely on many federally funded studies.

MacNeal is a 374-licensed-bed teaching hospital in Berwyn with advanced medical, surgical and psychiatric services, acute rehabilitation, an inpatient skilled nursing facility and a 68-bed behavioral health program and community clinics.
