Lead with Confidence in a 24/7 Operation – Deputy Head of Crew Care with LUMINAIR in Hamburg. Shape the Future of Crew Care in a Dynamic Aviation Environment. LUMINAIR is seeking a hands‑on, decisive, and people‑focused Deputy Head of Crew Care to join our team in Hamburg. This is a role for someone who thrives in the fast‑paced world of aviation operations—where plans change, pressure is high, and quick thinking matters. If you have a deep understanding of crew duty regulations, a talent for coordinating people and processes, and the leadership presence to guide a team through challenges, we want to hear from you. As Deputy Head of Crew Care, you'll take an active role in managing the day‑to‑day operation within the department, supporting the Crew Care team in a dynamic 24/7 aviation environment. Your mission is to help ensure that crew planning, daily flight operations, and operational coordination run safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable flight duty and rest time regulations. You'll act as a reliable point of coordination between Crew Care, Flight Crews, Sales, Dispatch, and other relevant departments—taking ownership of operational topics and helping drive timely, practical decisions. During irregular operations, last‑minute changes, or crew‑related challenges, you'll play a key role in assessing the situation and finding workable solutions. In doing so, you'll balance operational requirements, regulatory compliance, and crew welfare. This role requires sound judgment, strong communication, and a genuinely hands‑on mindset. You'll be expected to support and guide the team, stay calm under pressure, and take responsibility for keeping the operation moving when plans change.

Key Qualities We're Looking For:

  • Knowledge of Crew Duty Regulations: Confident understanding and application of flight duty time limitations, mandatory rest periods, and crew scheduling requirements in accordance with applicable aviation regulations.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to support, guide, and motivate the Crew Care team in a dynamic and high‑pressure operational environment.
  • Decision‑Making Under Pressure: Ability to make sound and timely decisions, particularly during operational disruptions, last‑minute schedule changes, and crew‑related challenges.
  • Aviation Operations Knowledge: Solid understanding of daily flight operations, crew coordination, and operational requirements.
  • Problem‑Solving Skills: Analytical and solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to identify operational challenges, assess risks, and implement effective solutions.
  • Organizational and Coordination Skills: Strong planning, prioritization, and coordination abilities, particularly in a dynamic 24/7 operational environment.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues at all levels.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to adapt to changing operational conditions, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high level of performance under pressure.
  • Language Skills: Fluent English language skills, with professional working proficiency in German preferred.

Work Requirements.

  • Eligibility for a valid ZÜP (Zuverlässigkeitsüberprüfung) as per §7 LuftSiG.
  • Unrestricted EU passport or the right to live and work in the EU.
