The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is Luxembourg’s national research and innovation centre focused on natural sciences, engineering, and emerging technologies. As a multidisciplinary Research and Technology Organisation (RTO), LIST delivers high-impact research in materials, environment, information technologies, and space resources, advancing Luxembourg’s ambition to be a leading knowledge-based, sustainable and resilient economy.
LIST is now seeking an outstanding and forward-thinking Scientific Director to join its Executive Committee and drive the organisation’s next phase of scientific excellence. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Scientific Director will play a pivotal role in further strengthening LIST’s position as a world-leading multidisciplinary RTO.

The ideal candidate will bring a bold vision for scientific advancement, a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, and the leadership capabilities to drive research that creates meaningful societal and economic impact.
Qualifications
- PhD in natural sciences or engineering
- Global scientific recognition
- At least 15 years of experience in research and innovation, including a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership, preferably within an RTO or a similar research-intensive organisation
- Fluency in English and French
