Our client is an internationally established design brand with modular DNA and an iconic design language, headquartered in the Bern area. We are looking for a strong personality with visionary thinking, technical expertise, and cultural design sensitivity to take on the strategic leadership of global product development.

Product Development Director

In this strategic key role, you will take on global responsibility for the product development of a design brand with international renown. The modular systems of our client shape modern working and living environments around the world – as an expression of aesthetics, precision, and cultural identity. You will lead an interdisciplinary team spanning Product Management and Engineering, while also overseeing cross-functional areas such as product protection (IP rights) and sustainability. Together, you will develop new solutions that combine innovative concepts, technical excellence, and market- relevance. In this role, you will not only act as a leader but as a curator: identifying relevant trends, translating ideas into industrial reality, and shaping a product world that defines new standards.

You have several years of international management experience in the development of sophisticated products – whether in the world of industrial design, high-quality consumer goods, interior systems, automotive interiors or innovative branded products. You have a university degree (in design, engineering, architecture, technology or a related field) and experience in managing complex development processes. You think strategically, act creatively and lead with inspiration. You communicate confidently at C-level, navigate different cultural contexts with ease, and are fluent in both German and English. We require a willingness to travel internationally.
