Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineers, Product Managers, and Business Partners to frame problems, both mathematically and within the business context.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to gain a deeper understanding of the problem.
- Construct and fit statistical, machine‑learning, or optimization models.
- Write production modeling code and collaborate with Software Engineers to implement algorithms in production.
- Design and run both simulated and live traffic experiments.
- Analyze experimental and observational data, communicate findings, and facilitate launch decisions.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in technology companies.
- Passion for solving unstructured and non‑standard mathematical problems.
- End‑to‑end experience with data, including querying, aggregation, analysis, and visualization.
- Proficiency with Python or another interpreted programming language such as R or MATLAB.
- Willingness to collaborate and communicate with others to solve a problem.

Work Flexibility
- This hybrid role requires in‑office presence at least three days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) and allows up to four weeks of remote work per year.
Salary Range
- Expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $108,000–$135,000, not inclusive of potential equity, bonus, or other benefits.
