Overview
As an AV Design Engineer 3 within the Security and Electronic Systems unit, you design and integrate complex AV and IT solutions for critical facilities. You’ll lead architectural decisions, develop hardware and software frameworks, and guide cross-functional teams across multiple programs. Your work shapes resilient, scalable communications and collaboration platforms for federal, local, and commercial customers. This role offers meaningful impact through advanced AV systems and strategic technical direction.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Create drawing packages and BOMs in CAD
- Design and test complex videoconferencing and integrated AV technologies (video walls, matrix systems, displays, conferencing, etc.)
- Design audio/video systems using Crestron, AMX, and Extron control systems
- Conduct customer site surveys, gather requirements, develop project scopes, and provide system costing
- Design, test, and troubleshoot IP and telecom networks
- Ensure compliance with project plans and specifications for materials and equipment
- Develop goals and plans to prioritize and complete work
- Create test plans for AV control systems (AMX, Crestron, Extron)
- Deliver on-site user and admin training for installed AV systems
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5+ years' experience OR Master’s Degree in Engineering with 3+ years' experience
- Experience developing hardware/software solutions for data center/virtual infrastructure
- Experience estimating costs and work breakdown structures for complex designs
- Ability to coach junior colleagues and work with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (including international)
- Familiarity with IT, telecom, AV, and electrical equipment and specs
- Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards; ability to read blueprints
- Experience with complex design/build and conceptual design
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- AutoCAD experience or equivalent drafting software
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with executive stakeholders
