Summary

The Director, International Scientific Content & Training is responsible for developing, adapting and delivering high-quality scientific content and training that supports International Medical Affairs across the product lifecycle.

Working closely with the VP, International Medical Affairs and Global Scientific Content and Training colleagues, this role ensures that International Medical Affairs teams have access to scientifically accurate, impactful and compliant content and training that enable effective scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.

The Director contributes to the execution of the International Medical Affairs and Scientific Communication Plans by translating Global scientific content and training strategies into practical, regionally relevant materials and educational programs that meet the needs of International markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Alignment
• Define and prioritize International scientific content and training needs of internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure the International Content and Training Plan is aligned with Global Medical Affairs Content and Training strategies, Scientific Communication Plans and International Medical priorities.
• Execute the annual International scientific content and training plan, including agreed tactics, deliverables, timelines and budget.
• Scientific Content Development
• Create, adapt and distribute high-quality scientific content across multiple communication channels to support effective scientific exchange.
• Develop scientific content that supports healthcare professional engagement and internal Medical Affairs capabilities while ensuring alignment with Global scientific communication strategies.
• Ensure scientific accuracy, stakeholder relevance and appropriate use of content across all scientific communication materials.
• Obtain appropriate scientific review, feedback and approvals, and update materials as required.
• Champion scientific rigor, evidence-based decision making and high-quality scientific communications.
• Scientific Training
• Create and deliver scientific training programs for Field Medical and other International Medical Affairs colleagues, ensuring content is engaging, relevant and accessible across regions.
• Develop scientifically rigorous training modules, toolkits and educational resources that strengthen Medical Affairs capabilities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback and performance metrics, incorporating learnings into future content and training.
• Cross-functional Collaboration
• Partner closely with Global Scientific Content, Scientific Training, Medical Excellence, Scientific Communications, Field Medical and Affiliate Medical Affairs teams to align content and training priorities.
• Collaborate with external vendors and partners, as appropriate, to support the development and delivery of scientific content and training.
• Support launch readiness and lifecycle Medical Affairs activities through effective scientific content and training initiatives.
• Contribute to International and Global medical congress activities, as appropriate, including the development of scientific content and training materials.
• Compliance & Quality
• Ensure all scientific content and training activities comply with Company policies, industry standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in all internal and external activities.
• Profile
• Strategic, scientifically credible and hands-on Medical Affairs professional with a passion for developing high-quality scientific content and training.
• Strong scientific communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical and scientific information into clear, engaging and impactful educational materials.
• Collaborative and influential partner, able to build strong relationships and work effectively across Global, International and Affiliate Medical Affairs teams.
• Highly organized, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outputs in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific or healthcare degree (Ph D, Pharm D, MD, MSc or equivalent).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical practice, including at least 5 years of experience in scientific content development, scientific communications and/or Medical Affairs training.
• Demonstrated experience developing, adapting and delivering scientific content and training programmes supporting Medical Affairs.
• Strong understanding of scientific communication principles, content development approaches and evolving communication channels.
• Proven ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively to diverse internal and external audiences.
• Strong knowledge of European Medical Affairs, regulatory and compliance requirements; familiarity with FDA requirements is desirable.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English; proficiency in additional European languages is considered an advantage.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, virtual collaboration platforms (e. g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom) and Medical Affairs systems (e. g., Veeva).

Willingness to travel for medical congresses, internal and external meetings, and other business-related activities as required.
