As Head of Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety, you will be responsible for the vision and strategy:
- Management and lead of the Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety Product Strategy within the Business Unit.
- Representation: Act as the Business Unit contact/adviser for Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety leadership, Business partners, and other relevant internal stakeholders (MAHLE organization, Cybersecurity Engineering Process Group, Functional Safety Process Group…).
- Compliance Support: Participate in Cybersecurity, Functional Safety, and A-SPICE assessments during product development and the ISO/SAE 21434 or ISO 26262 audits as a representative for the Business Unit.
- Resourcing: Enable the provision of resources to execute Cybersecurity and Functional Safety project activities when required, and support to balance workload and resources between the Business Unit product segments.
- Project Steering: Represent the Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety functions within the Project Steering Committees on demand and safeguard the projects to achieve the Product Strategy and organizational objectives.
- Provide leadership, culture, and competence for Cybersecurity and Functional Safety.
- Ensure that the persons performing or supporting Cybersecurity and/or Functional Safety activities are given sufficient authority to fulfill their responsibilities.
- Create, foster, and sustain a safety culture that supports and encourages the effective achievement of Cybersecurity and Functional Safety.
- Establish and/or safeguard processes to ensure that identified Functional Safety anomalies are communicated, analyzed, and solutions are performed in a timely and effective manner.
- Management System: Collaborate with the Cyber Security and Software Engineering teams to develop the technical and organizational roadmaps and assist and align MAHLE Cybersecurity Engineering and Software Updates Management Systems policies, processes, methods, and tools within the business unit.
- Escalation Assurance: Provide an escalation path for security issues, incidents, and inquiries. Work with Security Incident Response & Crisis Management teams to assist in effectively driving incidents to acceptable resolution; Assist with investigations as needed. Assist with customer communication of security incidents.
- Key Management: Support the set-up of the key management infrastructure application in the BU4 product manufacturing and R&D locations.
Your skills and strengths:
- You have at least 10 years of automotive industry experience in Engineering Development roles.
- You have a degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar.
- Knowledge/experience in international compliance requirements, standards, and regulations (R155, R156, ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 24089).
- Knowledge/experience in Automotive international compliance engineering requirements and standards (ISO 26262).
- Cybersecurity Engineering and/or Functional Safety Professional certified.
- Demonstrated experience in leading distributed engineering teams for Product Development Processes.
- Experience building a team, holding decisions on recruiting and organization design.
- Track record of delivering business and technology results for complex, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Leadership, team development, motivation, dealing with resistance, conflicts, problem-solving approaches in a team, conducting discussions.
- Ability to manage multiple related projects and navigate complex activities that span functions, organizations, regions, or cultures.
- Experience in Management of executive stakeholders, information, and communication.
- Strong communication skills, persuasiveness, and diplomatic skills.
- Very good knowledge of German and English.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
