Job Title: Head of Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety
As the Head of Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety, you will be responsible for defining the vision and strategy, managing and leading the Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety Product Strategy within the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Representation: Act as the Business Unit contact and adviser for Cybersecurity Engineering and Functional Safety leadership, business partners, and other internal stakeholders (e.g., MAHLE organization, Cybersecurity Engineering Process Group, Functional Safety Process Group).
- Compliance Support: Participate in cybersecurity, functional safety, and A-SPICE assessments during product development, and support ISO/SAE 21434 or ISO 26262 audits as the Business Unit representative.
- Resourcing: Ensure the provision of resources for cybersecurity and functional safety projects, supporting workload and resource balancing across product segments.
- Project Steering: Represent the cybersecurity and functional safety functions in project steering committees and ensure project alignment with strategic objectives.
- Leadership and Culture: Provide leadership to foster a safety culture, ensuring team authority and competence in cybersecurity and functional safety activities.
- Process Management: Establish and safeguard processes for timely communication, analysis, and resolution of functional safety anomalies.
- Management System: Collaborate with cybersecurity and software engineering teams to develop technical and organizational roadmaps, aligning policies, processes, methods, and tools within the business unit.
- Escalation Assurance: Provide escalation pathways for security issues, collaborate with incident response teams, and assist in investigations and customer communications regarding security incidents.
- Key Management: Support the setup of key management infrastructure in BU4\’s manufacturing and R&D locations.
Your Skills and Strengths:
- Minimum 10 years of automotive industry experience in engineering development roles.
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar.
- Knowledge of international compliance requirements, standards, and regulations (e.g., R155, R156, ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 24089).
- Experience with automotive international compliance engineering standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Cybersecurity Engineering and/or Functional Safety Professional certification.
- Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams in product development.
- Experience in team building, recruitment, and organizational design.
- Track record of delivering results in complex, cross-functional initiatives, managing multiple priorities.
- Leadership skills, team development, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across functions, regions, or cultures.
- Experience managing executive stakeholders and communication strategies.
- Strong communication skills in German and English.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
