Senior Tax Manager M&A in München

An international investment organisation is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to own the tax side of its deal activity. You’ll advise on buy and sell-side transactions involving layered cross-border structures, and support the portfolio after closing so that holdings stay compliant and tax-efficient. You’ll work with investors, finance colleagues and external advisers.

The role:

• Design tax-efficient structures that also account for investor reputation.
• Scrutinise external due diligence reports and push back where needed.
• Secure robust tax positions in purchase agreements and side documentation, and find workable solutions when parties disagree.
• Model after-tax returns and feed into deal valuations.
• Brief accounting and investors’ advisers once transactions close.
• Manage compliance and documentation, including transfer pricing, across investment vehicles.
• Flag tax risks early and coordinate mitigation with group functions and outside counsel.
• Lead restructurings, bringing all stakeholders along.
• Monitor legislative change and its effect on the portfolio.

What you’ll need:

• Qualification as a lawyer and/or German tax adviser, or a degree in business, economics or finance.
• Four to seven years’ tax experience from advisory, in-house or the tax authorities.
• Solid grounding in German and international tax law, ideally with transactional depth.
• Strong modelling and analytical ability.
• Persuasive negotiation and presentation skills, combined with a practical approach.
• Fluent German and English.
