Contract Manager

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Contract Manager to support the commercial delivery of major offshore wind projects.

This position plays a key role in managing complex contract packages, mitigating commercial risk, and ensuring contractual obligations are effectively administered throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day contract administration of assigned offshore wind packages throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide commercial guidance to project teams on contractual obligations, risk management, claims, variations, and change control.
• Support procurement, legal, project delivery and package management teams with contract amendments, additional scope, and commercial negotiations.
• Monitor contract compliance, ensuring milestones, payment schedules, securities, guarantees, liquidated damages and contractual deadlines are effectively managed.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities within contracts, maintaining accurate records of claims, variations and risk registers.
• Assess the commercial impact of contractual changes on project cost, programme and delivery.
• Prepare and review contractual correspondence, payment applications, variation orders, claims documentation and supporting reports.
• Ensure all contract documentation is maintained within the company's contract management systems, ensuring compliance, traceability and audit readiness.
• Act as the primary point of contact for contractual and claims-related matters, facilitating collaboration between commercial, technical, finance, legal, HSE, quality and operations teams.
• Support the resolution of contractual disputes through negotiation and proactive stakeholder management.

Skills & Experience

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Law, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Significant experience managing contracts and claims on large-scale infrastructure, renewable energy or major capital projects.
• Previous experience within the offshore wind sector would be highly advantageous.
• Strong background in administering complex contracts, managing variations and successfully resolving commercial claims.
• Excellent understanding of commercial risk management and contract administration principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess commercial impacts and develop practical solutions.
• Confident communicator with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with contract management and ERP systems such as SAP, Aconex or similar platforms.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English, with strong Microsoft Office skills and a professional, collaborative approach.
