Our client is seeking an experienced O&M Engineer to support the operational and financial performance of a growing offshore wind portfolio.
This role will be responsible for developing operational expenditure strategies, managing budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing detailed financial analysis to support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual operational expenditure (OPEX) budgeting process across offshore wind assets, ensuring budgets are accurate, achievable and aligned with operational requirements.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and long-term cost plans to support business planning and investment decisions.
- Maintain oversight of operational budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions where required.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve financial models used for operational cost planning and forecasting.
- Analyse expenditure trends, lifecycle costs and operational performance to support informed decision-making.
- Produce detailed cost reports and financial insights for senior management and project stakeholders.
- Evaluate operational strategies, maintenance activities and logistics to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Support modelling of operational scenarios, including vessel logistics, maintenance planning and asset availability assumptions.
- Work with technical teams to ensure financial planning reflects operational realities and performance expectations.
- Provide operational cost estimates and financial assumptions for new offshore wind developments and investment opportunities.
- Ensure consistency in cost modelling methodologies across multiple projects and regions.
- Present budget updates, financial forecasts and performance analysis to senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across asset management and operational planning functions.
Experience
- Minimum of five years' experience in operational expenditure planning, financial modelling or asset management within the energy or infrastructure sector.
- Previous experience supporting renewable energy projects is highly desirable, with offshore wind experience considered a significant advantage.
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management within asset-intensive environments.
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Finance, Renewable Energy, Project Management or another relevant discipline.
- Strong understanding of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) planning and lifecycle cost management.
- Experience developing financial models and analysing operational expenditure.
- Knowledge of offshore wind operations, maintenance strategies and asset performance is advantageous.
- Familiarity with operational modelling tools or asset performance software would be beneficial.
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills with strong attention to detail.
- Commercially minded with the ability to translate technical and operational data into meaningful financial insights.
